Big decision to make at Turf Moor next week

He was good today but Hull didn't really press us high which is where he usually falls short in a Carrick team as he isn't great on the ball.

So I guess it would depend how we want to approach the game because Burnley will press high, if we try to play out then they'll target him.

Strange you say that as I was thinking about this when I made the OP, I actually think he’s better on the ball than Clarke. I think Clarke can often get flustered and has the turning circle of Stephen McManus. I think Fry is an underrated footballer tbh. For me with Dael it’s a mental thing; one week he has Harry Kane in his pocket, the next he can’t handle a lump from Rotherham or Peterborough.

Clarke is decent on the ball I think, better than Fry anyway.

I feel like he was played today with the intention of playing next week, I'd be surprised if he was back on the bench because he did play well. Never been a huge Fry fan but I think he looked like he came back with a point to prove.

I think Ayling will come back in at right back but rest of the defence will be the same.

If we start keeping clean sheets then we could make a serious challenge. Im not sure what combination of defenders might do that but, if it happens, we need to keep it the same and not meddle unless we have to.

Never been a huge fan? WHAT?! 😮

Wash your mouth out. That’s Berwick Hills 90210’s finest you’re taking about.

I think I just lost a little bit off faith after the constant niggly injuries!

But I am pleased to see him back as there's a place for him there alongside The fridge if he wants it.

Was nice to see 3 teessiders in the team today I must say.

If everyone is fit, Fry is the worst senior centre half at the club. It’s taken 9 months but we saw the return of the aimless punt forward from the back today.

I wasn't, that's why I said partly to blame. The guy was running with Fry but got the cross in. Dijksteel, rest of the defence or keeper didn't do enough either.

Anyway I think it's a toss up between Fry and Clarke. Neither are as good as VDB in the way we set up.
