I think he was speaking metaphorically.Apparently Steel River has also expressed support for Labour on one of the bottles which is an odd business move

Who?I think he was speaking metaphorically.
The person who tweeted "I will always support local businesses and Teesside in general but if you’re going to slap ‘Labour’ on your product I’ll probably just buy a bottle of Bombay Sapphire next time."Who?
He produced a specific bottle of gin with £10 of every sale going to the Labour Party. The person who tweeted "I will always support local businesses and Teesside in general but if you’re going to slap ‘Labour’ on your product I’ll probably just buy a bottle of Bombay Sapphire next time."
I don't think he meant there's a bottle of Steel River Gin for sale with Labour 'slapped' on it.
Ah right ok. He also produced one called Spirit of 86 to raise funds for the Gary Parkinson Trust. Presumably his brand is now also boycotted by all non-Boro fans.He produced a specific bottle of gin with £10 of every sale going to the Labour Party.
Don't know.Ah right ok. He also produced one called Spirit of 86 to raise funds for the Gary Parkinson Trust. Presumably his brand is now also boycotted by all non-Boro fans.
I’ve sunk plenty of Newcastle brown ale.. not sure of the political implications of that. I don’t feel as if my drinking contributed to Newcastle’s.. complete lack of trophies during that period.Ah right ok. You may have to drink a lot more now. Just in case.I’ve sunk plenty of Newcastle brown ale.. not sure of the political implications of that. I don’t feel as if my drinking contributed to Newcastle’s.. complete lack of trophies during that period.
I might as well stick £100 on them to win the league.. relegating them in the process! You may have to drink a lot more now. Just in case.
So a complete non story, the bloke who tweeted it should go back on and apologise, as should all yoos who jumped on the bandwagon.....Well, I can report that steel river gin is on the menu at Teesside airport.
Black Cats GinDon't know.
But I doubt it will be stocked at The Stadium of Light.
The bloke who tweeted it is the owner. Do a bit more reading (if that doesn’t stretch you too much) and you will establish that the last order he received from the airport was in November 2022 and since then his calls and emails have been ignored. So a complete non story, the bloke who tweeted it should go back on and apologise, as should all yoos who jumped on the bandwagon.....
It could be that they haven't needed to order any more since Nov 22. And they aren't obliged to answer every email they receive from suppliers. The bloke who tweeted it is the owner. Yeah I think you've cracked it. Nothing at all to do with the owner being a supporter of the Labour Party then. My badIt could be that they haven't needed to order any more since Nov 22. And they aren't obliged to answer every email they receive from suppliers.
Maybe. Though I'm not sure why you think that is such an outlandish possibility.Yeah I think you've cracked it. Nothing at all to do with the owner being a supporter of the Labour Party then. My bad
What a bit like someone assuming that Steel River Gin could not be sold in the Stadium of Light when they specifically sell a "Black Cats Gin"? Or is that different? My point is there a lot of assumptions on that twitter conversation.
