Bid submitted for Ethan Erhahon

Can't see this one happening when we already have Hackney and Morris who are almost guaranteed starters.

Barlasser looks to be going. Need 4 starters in the squad. So can see this happening.
Hackney Howson start of season. Morris gaining game time at 60 mins + before hopefully taking over Howsons spot
Ultimately Howson Erhahon as cover / Cup
McCabe gaining first team experience as and when injuries / suspensions crop up

I agree we need four good players, but I can't see Erhahon going from playing nearly every single minute to playing cup games.

We wouldn't be offering him substantially more money than Derby or other interested teams - We're not guaranteed promotion contenders (even though we all hope we'll get there)...

There's no benefit to Erhahon and his future career signing for us unless he's going to play.

Players back themselves. Carrick is a big draw to MF as well...

I'd love it to be true - I've always been a big advocator of signing the best young talent from League 1 - Harrison Burrows, Eiran Cashin, Kwame Poku.

I just think from the players perspective - unless money is doing the talking - you'd back yourself to be playing consistently for the best team possible, and there's two routes to that...

Join Boro as potentially fourth choice where your fate could be in the hands of Aidan Morris not doing as well as we hope, or a player getting injured before you get a chance...
Or join a club like Derby who could be (and likely are) offering you a guaranteed place in the starting 11 where you can back yourself to show how good you are from matchday one.

Everyone is different but if I was a neutral, I'd take the Derby option and play 40 games next season.

How many players don't think logically like that though? Have their agents trying to screw clubs for as much as possible and it's all about the ££££ not the player.

Lost count of the number of good young promising players make the big step up to ultimately not get their chance and drift off into obscurity with the only thing to show a healthy bank balance?

I'm all for signing players like this, let's see how it pans out👍

If you back yourself then you back yourself. Derby went into administration and, as much as their immediate return has been impressive, it's a stretch to see them as contenders. Boro could and should be, meaning he could be part of a Premier League outfit in a year. Also, there's a high chance a large bid will smoke us out with Hackney.

I was talking to a Derby fan the other night and there was very little optimism for the new season from him.

If you think you are capable of playing PL football then you shouldn't be scared of going to a top half championship squad and winning your place.

I have no idea what sort of player this guy is, or how to pronounce his surname, but a midfield of Howson who will be retiring soon and Hackney who will be off to the PL soon would indicate a good chance of a starting role in the not too distant future.

If he hasn't the confidence to come here thinking he'll make a first team spot his own I wouldn't want him.

Whenever a club in the higher division are mentioned with an interest in our players we are told they WILL move because of wages. Even if they don’t play as much.

Same difference. He’ll be earning no more than £2,000/week at Lincoln. He’ll have the chance to triple that here

2 goals last season but only had an xG of 0.3. So doesn’t shoot. 4 career goals in 120 games. 4 assists last season. 11 yellows and 1 red. 86% passing. Sounds like he’s a defensive metronome, who gets stuck in but gets a nosebleed over the halfway line
