Bettinelli interest

In the championship you don't need a spectacular keeper, you just need a steady Eddie who can organise and communicate and who isn't going to concede daft goals.

We saw this with Dimi. Mejias was probably more agile and capable of saves Dimi wasn't. He was also an accident waiting to happen and flapped more at crosses which unsettled the defence. Dimi was just steady away and it was more than good enough.

I'd like Bettinelli to stay, same as the rest of the defence. You want to keep that unit together. I wouldn't pay anything daft for him though. I'm sure Warnock has alternatives in mind if the worse happens anyway

It's nice to have a big reliable goalie. Not arsing about with 4ft Randolph afraid to catch something in his 6 yard box or the over-inflated ego that was Pears.

What I like about him is his kicking.
He is part of a well-drilled machine, if in doubt get it out!
In a world of Citeh wannabees with their suicidal passing it out at the back I like our retro approach.

It goes to show that the art of scouting has been lost, if he is being looked at then it is based on his clean sheets.....He has had very little to do and certainly not had to make any worldies that have kept us in games!

Randolph left the club to sit on West ham's bench
Given signed for Stoke rather than us to sit on the bench.
Brad Jones left to sit on Liverpool's bench.
Turnbull left to sit on Chelsea's bench.

If he were to leave then bring dimi back. We just need a bloke who won't make mistakes and communicates well with the defence. We spent a million on dejan, give him the job.

Have you seen how many Dimi has conceeded at Thornaby? He was actually on the bench for Thornaby for one of the games before second lockdown!

Iffy on both goals this afternoon too, got both hands on the first and fell over when going for a wander for the second

First time in a league match we let in more than 1 goal this season - that will teach me for giving praise.

Evenwood and Willington will be on the phone on Monday morning to Fulham :giggle:

he's not a very good keeper tbh, i don;t think he'd be a huge loss, he's only starting because of his kicking and fits into warnocks tactical approach of zero risk from the defenders, pass it back and launch it routine
