Bettenelli to Chelsea

I am sure he will line up for his obligatory champions league, league cup, or Prem medal come the end of the season without having played more than 10 mins in any game.

Third choice keeper must be the easiest job in football.
Yup, it's basically, crossing balls in for the number one and two to practice catching/punching, acting as a shooter for number one and two to warm up and then giving number one and two a rest in training while you do a bit diving about. Matchday, carry the number ones water bottle for him and put it in the net

Good work if you can get it. He might aswell be third choice because he’s proved with us he’s no where near first choice at even championship level

It’s a difficult one. Do you want to play in the Championship or do you want to guarantee an income that will keep you comfortable for the rest of your life? Lots would say they’d prefer to play, lots would take the money. It depends on Bettinelli I suppose - is it a job or is it a vocation?

Hes probably doubled his wages and after last season his confidence will be shot. I'd snap Chelseas hand off

I don’t think anyone is suggesting Bettinelli is in any way making a bad choice, Chelsea, well thats another matter. If I were Bettinelli, a London lad, family in London, it is a no brainer, snap their hands off. However, I suspect he might be on less money than people think if he does sign.

He’s coming off a season where he wasn’t great, probably well below what he and we all expected, to go into what is likely to be a very high paid but low pressure environment.

He’s probably looking to rebuild his confidence in what I assume is a world class training environment, whilst playing in the odd early cup game.

If there’s injuries he’ll see it as a chance to rebuild his career, if not he’ll probably go looking for first team football in a couple of years after coining in a nice wedge. Didn’t work out with us but he’s probably better than what we saw, no hard feelings from me so fair play to him!
