Isn’t the Bradford Akhbars the original tho?going to have a curry before the game tonight.
What is the best curry house in Bradford? Not a akbars or a chain?
i havnt been in Bradford (brat-for) for many a year - however during the late 70s when we went to see punk bands down there, the best curry houses were actually someones house in the street - and it cost between 30p and 50p - so you needed local knowledge.going to have a curry before the game tonight.

I just think Akbars is over rated and overpriced. Something authentic that the locals go to.Isn’t the Bradford Akhbars the original tho?
I appreciate it’s a chain now but I wouldn’t be surprised if locals go to Akbars there. But fair enough I appreciate you want something different. I actually don’t mind the Akbars in Boro.I just think Akbars is over rated and overpriced. Something authentic that the locals go to.
Some do but Akbars is seen as a more British place amongst Bradford folk in general. I say that for context as someone with a mate who is Asian and lives in BradfordI appreciate it’s a chain now but I wouldn’t be surprised if locals go to Akbars there. Had a very good ruby in Darlo recently. Maybe I should save that story for a more relevant thread.
Lived in Bradford for roughly 3 years and that was going to be my recommendation. It’s not near the centre though so would need to drive there.A relative from Leeds went to a place called Bhajis and Beer in Bradford a few weeks back and reckoned it was one of the best curries he has had, no idea personally or even where it is exactly

No it was 'Bombay Gate'. Pretty good. I noticed that end of Darlo is much busier on a Friday night than Stockton or Boro in my recent experience. Was it babals by any chance. Tried it last week and it was great. Went mainly the street food section
