Best Android phone at the moment?

Realme 8. 128 GB storage, 6 GB ram, 64 meg camera, headphone jack, gorilla glass, 6000 milliamp battery that lasts for days, SD slot. No bloatware.
£150 off Amazon.
It replaces a S20 which I disliked immensely.
I'm never buying a big brand flagship again.
Realme are horrendous at updating their phones in my experience. My X2 Pro is a really good phone hardware wise, but the updates are always months late and buggy. As for support, well they are prone to tell you to 'watchbour social media handles' more than actually read and respond to your queries.
Realme are part of Oppo as are One Plus now and it's no coincidence that One Plus's popularity has taken a hit.

I’ve a s20 , but being honest it’s no different to my old s7 for general phone usage.
depends on what you want a phone for I guess .
and remember the 50 million magabit camera is only great if your printing off billboard sized pictures .

have to admit, ive just changed phones from an huawei p30 pro to an iphone 12,although the iphone 12 is a good phone, that connects better with my imac/macbook,have to say the huawei phone is long way better, the battery in the huawei is unreal, and the photos have to be the best on a phone ive ever seen with x10 zoom, its a much better phone,i would deffo recommend a huawei

I wouldn't buy Huawei now because they don't come with Google services/apps??

Happy with my A52 came with free buds. Has 5G and the camera (mainly what i use my phone for when im not browsing the web) is best ive had on a mobile

Depends what you want it for and what is important for you.
Huawei P40 Pro
Google Pixel 6 Pro
I work in the industry and wouldn't go for Samsung or iPhone as you are paying a premium for a brand each to their own though.
I think that's what the Samsung A range is trying to address. The A52 and A72 are great phones without the Premium price.

I switched from Huawei to Samsung, and have been impressed with the Samsung. (That said, I enjoyed the Huawei, but was put off getting another because of their Google issues at the time).

When it becomes time to change the current Samsung, I'm pretty likely to try another brand again. Google, Oppo, One Plus, Xaomi maybe. (Have to admit that I'd not come across Realme before, mentioned above in this thread).

I thought it wasn't going to get updates though? - (Was I wrong)?
I got rid of mine 6 weeks ago and there was no problem at all with updates. My phone broke so I needed to change anyway but there's a lot I miss about it even compared to this pixel 6.

I wasn't expecting much but that was a brilliant phone for the 18 months I had it

I second the xaiomi recommendation. Great phone at that price point. Or realme if you want quality budgets phones . Top end for me will always be Samsung. Typing this on a fold 3
