Best Android phone at the moment?

Have a really cack Sony at the moment. Is pretty unreliable and is away getting repaired at the moment, so thinking of getting a replacement.

What's a good phone at the moment and what features do people like?

I'm not interested in Apple as I use an Android tablet that would be synched with it.

Depends on your budget really and whether you want to buy outright or get a contract.

I've read lots of review which say the new Google Pixel 6's are cracking phones but they're expensive (to me anyway!)

This has had lots of good reviews and is very cheap for the spec.

Got an S21 but didn't like it.
Passed it on to my lad and got an A52, spot on and don't know why it's half the price of the S21.

I've been using samsung for years 10 years or more since going android.

Although I'm running an 'older' S20. The S21s are on sale as the S22 is out next month.

I did get a One Plus for a while but didn't like it despite great reviews. I just think I was used to all things samsung.

I have to admit that android currently has a real wide selection. I just watch the life out of YouTube reviews. I don't like these big 'ultra' ones. Just like a mini tablet😂

The S range isn't what it used to be. They now have the S, the S+ and the S Ultra so getting an S doesn't give you the latest tech. You have to go with the Ultra to get the top specs in everything. There probably isn't a huge difference between the A and the S now but by the time the A comes out the S has usually dropped in price to be similar.

Just got a Samsung S20 FE and it is pretty good value with it not being the newest version. Most improvements are incremental these days and hardly noticeable, I'd say. Had a Google Pixel 3a XL before which I liked for the UI but it was slow. Sort of wish I'd got the Pixel 6 for that reason but happy enough with the Samsung and its triple camera setup.

Plenty of giant mobiles for a under £500 not a fan of Samsung bloatware although i understand its not as bad as it used to be. my last samsung developed a dead line on the screen and they were pretty unresponsive about it despite it being a common fault. I have had a huawei mate20x for 3 years ands its been dropped so many times its absolutely bomb proof so i would be tempted with an honour phone huawei sister company purely for the build quality.

Had the Pixel 4a for about a year now and love it. Not into the big phones. Had a Samsung S7 for 4 years previous and a couple of Sony Experias before that. I like a good camera on my phone so these have all suited me fine.

I've got a pixel 6 and really like it but if you're not wanting top of the range then I can't recommend the Huawei P30 Pro highly enough. The very best overall android phone I've had

Realme 8. 128 GB storage, 6 GB ram, 64 meg camera, headphone jack, gorilla glass, 6000 milliamp battery that lasts for days, SD slot. No bloatware.
£150 off Amazon.
It replaces a S20 which I disliked immensely.
I'm never buying a big brand flagship again.

I've had a couple of one plus phones. The first one (3t) was genuinely astonishing for the price and made me an Android convert after years of apple. I've currently got an 8 but it's not as impressive. However, their flagship models are still much cheaper than others so worth a look.

I second this - oneplus 8t for me. half the price of the others.
