Article on the BBC website of 10 best ever Championship/2nd Division teams.Cant believe the 73/74 team are not included.Winning the league by 15 points in March.Erimus will be inconsolable!
 
15 points clear then, they would be 23 points clear at the top with 3 points for a win, and that's with 22 rather than 24 teams.

Ridiculous not to include them.

They've included a Liverpool team from 1961/62, so it's not just because of the year.

I don't agree with including teams for what they achieved after promotion, myself.

Agreed Ben.There is still an argument for including us on that reasoning as the following season we were only 5 points off Derby who won the title.
 
Didn't see the list but I would assume the forst team managed by clough would be there, they were promoted and 2 years later won the european cup, if my memory serves me right.

Oh I also agree about charltons boro team, though my dad tells me they were a bit boring to watch - go figure.
 
Always thought it was a bit unfair when they were labelled boring.They scored 77 goals 7 more than any other team in the division while only conceding 30.They scored more than 2 goals in 11 games more than 25% of the season(42 games in those days).Wish we had some of that "boring"stuff this season.

They were classed as boring because teams couldnt get a sniff against the BEST team in the 2nd divison, how can they not include probably, IMHO, the BEST 2nd division team EVER

I never found them boring. Loved that season.

That's absoutly crazy, who comes out with these idiotic polls, even putting bias towards the Boro how could someone sit in a room with me & tell me the reason why the BEST team EVER to win the 2nd divsion championship isnt included
 
We were classed as boring because journalists saw a couple of 0-0s early in the season and decided that we were boring on that basis. And journalists don't admit they are wrong.
 
Crikey. I hadn't realised there were ten choices. And we are not even in those who didn't make the cut. So it's a load of b***ks really.
