It would also take out all your Manchester united options, or Ronaldo as it is also known 😉, but is a very good call for people old enough to have been around during his playing days

There are so many traps in this question aren't there? I don't have the ability to come up with a team which adheres to the rules but I thought someone may have chosen best over Ronaldo. I like him but many don't.
 
OK if i tried this I would get repetitive strain though cross referencing but I let my son have a go.

Maradonna played for Barca. So rules out any other Barcelona player even if you leave out his obvious compatriot.

Helps if you leave out C. Ronaldo as picking him rules out any other Man Utd, Madrid or Juve players. Most people I imagine would probably pick one from each.

Nedved and Gazza were both at lazio!

I think I prefer finding errors in people's team more than doing it myself.
 
When you say lifetime , do you mean alive or playing ? This would govern Best/Pele out for a lot of people on here who weren’t around in their time.

So they were. I wasn't even that keen on having Gazza.

Although most others have errors too, any chance of picking on someone else next? 😂☹️
