Benfica v Sporting

Victor Gyokeres surely nailed on to score one or two

I didn't realise the chase was this close, could be a crazy game

I've favoured Sporting in the past: they were impressive when they beat us, and I don't feel bitter about teams bearing us fair and square.

Went to see the play last month when I happened to be in Lisbon.

I feel more sympathetic towards benfica as a result of what I learned. Benfica are the traditional working class underdogs, and the rivalry really grew when Sporting splashed the cash to sign 7 of benfica's team in the early 1900s.

When I was based in Lisbon (NATO post), Benfica was always the people’s Labour club, fans mostly laid back and down to earth. Sporting were more conservative, their fans always competitive and eager to win everything. I played darts in the Lisbon and District leagues, and that’s how it always played out depending on which part of Lisbon you were playing at.

I’d be Benfica for that very reason.
