Personally, think he should have come to England, but there you go. Real Madrid are a mix of very young and very old, and the older ones need replacing, especially up front. It'll be a challenge for him, but interesting to see how he gets on. German football is probably more similar to England, so will be interesting to see how he adapts. It'll be good if his all action game works in Spain.
He's tried overseas and been successful and could have replicated that here in England. Will he really be challenged in the Spanish League, is Spanish League strong these days? - that's a genuine question.Disagree there, think more English players ought to try overseas personally . Can only be good for the national team as we get accustomed to more styles of play
Think sancho going to Man Utd wasn’t a good move for him at all . Sure he’s probably earning more but I reckon he would have developed more staying in Europe or continuing to play for dortmund
I disagree, Spain has always had a very good league with many other teams either pushing them hard or winning it. Valencia won it a few times, atletico most recently and deportivo even won it.I think the Spanish league will benefit him in style of play - very high on skill & control of the ball - however I just think its pretty much 2 pony league, though hope if Barcelona implode the rest can make it a more competitive competition, very good clubs if a bit too much of a duopoly..
I hope he doesn't get too much stick from the terraces..
I think that's a good point. Barca are (from what I have read) unlikely to be a force for maybe a decade or so? The strength of the other clubs is respectable. Vallencia, Atletico, etc. but they will not challenge Real. Of course RM will be playing in the Champions League I just wonder if they will be competitive in the CL if they find that playing inferior teams week in week out domestically like the Scottish clubs do (albeit with a lot less money to spend) means that they are unprepared to face teams like City, Bayern, etc in the more competitive leagues? He's tried overseas and been successful and could have replicated that here in England. Will he really be challenged in the Spanish League, is Spanish League strong these days? - that's a genuine question.
