Man in his 60s paying for sexually explicit pictures of a teenager. Is that not perverted
Yes i would say it is, and so would most people i would hope. Apparently the BBC have a problem with identifying this kind of thing though. Let’s also not forget they have a highly inappropriate statue on display outside their building, created by a known paedophile - big clue there as to there “standards” i guess

My guess is there's a fair old Venn diagram to be drawn showing:

* People hugely offended by the alleged sex life of a BBC Newsreader; and
* People who would welcome the drowning at sea of other people who are desperately fleeing war/torture.

People fancy young women/guys. However most people don't act on it as they are often married/in a relationship, or it's a feeling that quickly passes. I guess for Edwards, he couldn't get past the fixation. Not sure I'd call it perverted though.

Man pays for porn from a legal adult.

I presume all the people calling him a pervert are careful to ensure any videos that they watch only include people close to their own age.

I presume they also think it's somehow less perverted to just watch it for free on websites, rather than providing the person involved money directly.

The only aspect that's really concerning in the saga is that he was messaging people suggestively whilst married, and messaging employees who he was senior to.

Illegality.

Where is your line?

So a 60 year old bloke and an 18 year old girl is fine with you, it doesn’t seem perverse?

I’d say my line is along the lines of the ‘half your age plus 7 years’ rule, but even then that would change as the bloke gets older.

So you also think he’s perverted. Thanks for your contribution to the witch hunt, no need for anything further from you.

Question still there for FC.

Yes, I do, and you’re not doing yourself any favours by claiming there is nothing wrong with a 61 year old paying for nude photos of a girl(s) young enough to be his granddaughter.

There is nothing wrong with a 61 year old having a relationship privately with another adult legally whatever the age gap. Who are you to moralise about that?

To be honest you’re coming across as one of THOSE blokes. You know, the one who dates his daughter’s friend once she’s turned 18. It’s not a good look, mate.

Yes i definitely think it’s perverted for a man of that age to pay a teenager for sexually explicit photos. The police have been quite careful in their wording so far of what they know - there may be more things that come to light that change that situation. I just find it incomprehensible that someone in his position would risk his marriage, his reputation, and his career for what amounts to some bizarre sex kink - it beggars belief, it really does

Ooh listen to Mr Puritan espouse his moral judgement on others. Give it a rest fella. Christ there are some absolute bellends on this thread.

Sorry, is it old fashioned of me to think that it’s sleazy for quinquagenarians, sexagenarians, septuagenarians and octogenarians to be dating teenagers?
It’s non of you effing business frankly. I personally wouldn’t but If they are adult and consenting then who are we to worry.

He wasn't dating teenagers?

Even the Sun haven't span that allegation, as far as I can see.
