Love music but never got Jazz, what they call R&B, old disco.

Cos to most people 'jazz' is New Orleans, Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, all a bit 'meh' really.

The most popular jazz album ever is Miles Davis 'Kind of Blue'. It's sold over 3m copies. Try it. If you don't like it never mind, it's just not for you but at least you will have given it a go.

I don't listen to R6, but isn't that where Huey Morgan can be found? Enjoyed his recent BBC 4 tv docu about latin American music.

Stop being polite.
If you don’t like ‘Kind of Blue’ - you just need to giver head a bloomin good shake. And keep shaking it until you realise it is wonderful ;)

In what respect ?

I actually think he ticks lots of the same boxes as his dad:-

Love of music - tick
Willingness to take risks and play unheard of music - tick
Doesn't try to force his personality too much into the show - tick

I think any comparisons with his dad are really unfair, and probably why he downplays the mentions of him somewhat. Peel was one of a kind, and simply trying to copy him would not work either.

Just thought the show was very boring TBH. Maybe just caught it on a bad night. Not a regular listener and a long while since I had heard him. Obviously he has held his job a while now so those in power must think he is ok.(y)
