Barry Bannan

I am surprised we have not been linked with Bannan this Summer. He is too definitely too good for Division 1 and Sheff Wed must be under financial pressure to raise some cash. I suspect he's on a good wage as no clubs have made bids for him. He also mean SW may struggle to pay his wages all next season. He is always SW's best player when we play them.

Rather have young hungry players than those coming towards the end of their career looking for one last payday.

I don't think he is good enough for the PL so prob will end up at a Championship team, I suspect his wage demands might limit his options.

I like variety in a side and he gives craft in contrast to brawn of say Crooks and Morsy. Warnock side's are hard working and generally big, but say with Cardiff he had a couple of different players especially attacking players.

Brentford are rumoured to be of interest, not sure Bannan is Premier League standard, they would have got him by now if he was a priority.

I remember than word in the ear moment last season when we beat them 3-1 - NW was interested then.

If we achieved promotion some how I doubt a lot of the recent signings would remain . Odds of signing this many lower league players and us8mg them in the premier league seems pretty limited

Doubt he would have got into the Brentford team last season, nevermind in the PL.

No thanks.

Think I'd have rather kept someone like Saville than sign Bannan.

He's bang average for the championship.

Definitely a few years ago instead of Sav or even Howson.

I have to admit he's definitely 'easy on the eye' and usually stands out when we played Wednesday. I would go as far as saying everytime we played them his name cropped up on here.

I think he's 32? So 1mil is pretty much dead money as he'd want a 2 year deal.

That said a cracking little player 👍(weird as I've said don't sign him lol)

I agree a transfer fee is dead money - as he is 31. Something will have to give in the next month though as SW will not be able to pay him top Championship wages, in Division 1 with their financial situation.

Barry bannan is streets ahead of Saville
Streets ahead?

He's scored around 27 goals throughout his career in over 400 appearances.

Saville has more goals in less than 350 appearances.

Saville isn't exactly brilliant. But he's definitely a better footballing asset than Barry Bannan.

Bannan has played 27 times for Scotland - he played in all Wednesday's games last season and won player of the year from the supporters.

Grant Hanley has played for Scotland over 30 times. Their standard is terrible.

Bannan was also part of a team that was relegated last season.

Better player than George Saville could ever dream of being . Being good isn't all about the number of goals you score. Controls the game with his passing & always seems to have more time than anyone else on the pitch , which is the sign of a good player in my book . Agree it's too late for him in the PL , but he would be a real asset to any side in the championship. In my opinion of course .
