Barlaser

Based on what we saw last season (fits and starts) he’s not good enough. I just saw him as lacking on a lot of areas, including speed, awareness and agility. Basically our midfield needs work especially if Howson is MIA. I guess we’ll see how good or bad he is next week.

if bar laser and hackney can get some sort of understanding together thats a very strong pairing in the middle and we will create a lot of chances. we pulled off a decent surprise with smith last season and most stoke fans cant believe how good he ended up for us - we need another one of those signings (or 2)

I started a thread after the playoffs about Carricks epic mistake not playing the boy.

He's a F***ing smooth baller and you idiots couldn't see it preferring to suggest Mowatt was a better choice, shame on you all. The guy is higher quality.
Payero is a far better player imo...just needs a run of games.

Needs to take more care with the ball. The more time he has the more likely he it to make a mistake in my opinion.

Had some good moments today but some very sloppy ones too.
I thought that last season when he's under pressure seemed to naturally do things right. When he had time seemed like he over thought every pass and ultimately gave it away or picked the wrong one.

Looks like he'll get his chance against Millwall. I don't think hes good enough but his place to keep at the moment. Hope he kicks on

Mowatt played well late in the season, and was in the side on merit
Barlaser will hopefully be a good player for us though
As things stand he'll be playing next Saturday
Hope he turns out good as he does have some good attributes I just don’t fully trust him to not give the ball away in stupid areas. Does it to often. Needs to be smarter when he’s got more time on the ball. Some of his longer passing is great

Agree, I was more alluding to the terms of Mowatts loan deal which nobody will know about.

I’m excited to see more of Barlaser this season.
As above Mowatt played well under Carrick and deserved to be in ahead of Barlaser. He was a different player under Carrick than under Wilder
Also as above I'm hoping Barlaser has a great season for us

Totally agree

He’s had a good amount of time working under Carrick now, and if there’s anyone who’s going to improve him in playing that position then Carrick is one of the best there’s been. Let’s hope some of that has rubbed off and he has a great season.

Totally agree. I want him to do it just not all that confident at the moment. Hope he gets off to a great start next week.

What did he achieve? What were our results with him in the team? How many goal contributions did he have?

It's nonsense that Mowatt was good under Carrick backed by nothing but a rose tinted view due to league position.

Barlaser played well today. Some of his incisive passes were top drawer. With better movement from the 4 in front of him he will be very effective. If we remain fairly static in the top third of the pitch then he will get caught out as he will hold on to the ball for too long. I like him.

It's nonsense to say he wasn't
But last season has gone - so I'm not sure why you're so focused on it

This season is what matters now

Harsh to make any judgement on him on last season considering he started a couple of games and had a few sub appearances. He's the sort of player that will benefit from a run of games.
