Are we any wiser yet on what the issue actually is ?
Broken toenail or snapped Achilles ?
Broken toenail or snapped Achilles ?
I can too, to be fair to MC. I’m certain though that it’s bad news about the lad unfortunately…Yes, frustrating for fans but I can see the reasoning behind it.
That’s unfair and not true.Hes taken up the ameobi role at the club
Yes, i thought that. No reflection on him or his ability as footballer but the move has been a disaster really so wonder if the club will lose patience. Same was said of Matt Clark mind you and he has been successfully rehabilitated so there's still hope for Bangura.I've been told he's done his Achilles, but. totally understandably, the club are keeping it under wraps to stop the price of other players going through the roof. If it is a long term injury I can sadly see this being the end of his time here. He just can't be relied on to stay fit.
I fully agree but Clarke was one injury, albeit a very lengthy one, no? Bangura has now had 3 seperate lengthy injuries since he joined.Yes, i thought that. It would be a huge statement to start McCormick tomorrow ahead of Engel and a significant blow for Engel, too big a risk and I would be shocked if MC started McCormick because it risks his confidence and it tells Engel something which, being in a vunerable position with experience in the left back position tells me Engel will play 90mins no less with MC non verbally saying to Engel, go on….show me…this is your opportunity….step upI like young George McCormick from what I have seen pre-season. He is a confident lad and has took his chance admirably, however, I doubt very much MC would put too much pressure on his young shoulders.
I can see him getting League cup games and a lot of Champers bench time, but possibly not as a regular starter. Then again, I could be wrong (I normally am)![]()
Yeah, heard the inevitable myself from MC.Michael Carrick confirms Alex Bangura is injured: “Unfortunately, Alex is going to be out for a period of time. He’s had an operation on his Achilles, which is not great news for us.”
Be lucky to see him this season, dependent on tear/rupture, a real shame for the lad as I think we've all rated the bits we've seen from him, but that's now 3 separate bad injuries in 12 months - I imagine we'll part ways next summer. Left back position now needs urgent attention.Yeah, heard the inevitable myself from MC.
O well. Maybe by end of January he could be a new signing….6 months is usually the time frame isn’t it ?
