Bands Who Might As Well Have Been Two Different Bands

The Human League changed completely when Ian Craig marsh and Martyn Ware were replaced by Joanne Catherall and Susan Sulley. From experimental electronics:
Good call, and you can go even less poppy than Being Boiled if you go back to the really early stuff (I find the first album Reproduction almost unlistenable).

Beach Boys another one with the same personnel. Pet Sounds the transitional album from surf rock.

I can think of a few:

Talk Talk- from boppy post punk to Mark Hollis exploring music interests
Depeche Mode- Again from boppy to darker stuff
Muttley summed Genesis up in a nutshell
Yes- From prog rock to the Buggles :)

Fleetwood Mac managed to keep everyone interested despite personnel and musical changes

10CC splitting up was interesting- We got Godley and Creme's duo genius, and Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman rocked for a year or two after G + C left, but were never anywhere near as good

Not having that. Drama is a superb album, shockingly under rated thanks to this "Buggles" prejudice crap. It's not in any way a different direction from the predecessors Tormato or Going For the One and is actually loads better than Tomato and an equal (if not better) than GFTO.

No way is it "The Buggles".

Rant over 😆😆😆😆.......... now. more beer(y)

Turns out it's a bit messy in the Bucks Fizz landscape! Who knew?!?! The 'Official' Buck's Fizz feature's Bobby G (the only member from the classic 80's line-up😁) plus three other no marks! However, just to confuse things 'The Fizz' features original members Cheryl Baker, Mike Nolan & Jay Aston! Boy, early 80's cheesy pop is a murky world!

Fairport Convention with Sandy Denny to Martin Carthy domination.

Martin Carthy has never been in Fairport, Bear.
He spent a lot of years playing with Dave Swarbrick, both before and after Swarbricks Fairport years, but he was never part of Fairport himself.
He also played with Ashley Hutchings and Simon Nicol in the Albion Country Band when they were having a break from Fairport.

Whoops . . . meant Dave Swarbrick.

Yes. Swarbrick did have a big influence, but he was brought in specifically to play that role.
The group were moving that way with What we did on our holidays and Unhalfbricking with Ashley Hutchings driving them down the folk route.
Unfortunately they never went far enough for Hutchings which was why he eventually left, but at least it brought Dave Pegg into the group.
