He's a funny one Hernandez. He can look excellent on the ball and I think he's quite an intelligent player but no end product. No goals or assists and yet he's had plenty of game-time really.Hope not, he’s a fantastic player
one we should definitely try and tie down
Not a brilliant stat but he has got 1 goal to be fair, he scored against Forest away under Warnock. He's a funny one Hernandez. He can look excellent on the ball and I think he's quite an intelligent player but no end product. No goals or assists and yet he's had plenty of game-time really.
I also accept though that he's been asked to play wing-back and as a striker, whereas he's more suited to playing in a wide attacking role.
In some ways he reminds me Braithwaite, another player we never managed to get the best out of.
Yes agree coluka, as i would like to see Uche stay too, but could understand him needing to go for regular 1st team footballI like Hernandez, he offers pace, makes defenders jittery, his unpredictability is an asset for me and despite his lack of goals (clearly he has mitigating circumstances) he knows how to finish, he has had goals disallowed and shots saved, a useful asset to cover several positions from WB to anywhere across the front 3 and offers a useful option from the bench if chasing a game. Hope he stays, I am amazed Norwich have not yet recalled him in truth.
Poor old Watmore. He got bombed out last season when all the loan signings joined.
He still 'saw them off' and won his place back. It must be a kick in the teeth having 3 loan forwards ahead of him (I'm guessing with loan fees/wages and assurances of game time).
I think we look a far better side when he plays. Hopegully he will go again and 'see these lot off'.
I'm sorry.... I have a bit of a soft spot for Watmore with his work ethic etc
True. I just think we are far better when he plays. You can see how much it effects us when he goes off.I don't think Watmore will miss out on too much game time.
Wilder likes to rotate his forwards in the second half, and Watmore has came off after around 70 minutes in most matches under Wilder.
Even if somebody else is starting ahead of him, I expect he'll come on with about 20 minutes to stake a claim for the next match.
Hernandez has been coming on as our second striker recently, I expect that will now change to Balogun/Connolly/Watmore.
Unless he's not recovered from Covid, I expect Watmore will start on Saturday.
Yeah, we don't want to revert back to 'square pegs in round holes'. One thing which has impressed me most about Wilder has been his insistence on playing players in their preferred roles.why are people talking like we have a front three not a front two?
Only two of the strikers could realistically play at once, with two on the bench. Tav is playing left central midfield, not on the left, and Balogun can't play CM and there's only a front two for Hernandez to cover.
For me Balogun and Sporar will start, I would suspect Connelly will be the go to first sub

I think Balogun likes it into feet and either hold up and dribble or run at people. Connelly likes to work on the shoulder for the ball in behind. Balogun I believe has better link up play, certainly from what I've seen. Balogun style-wise is more Bergkamp, while Connelly is more Owen.........not saying either player is that quality by the wayThen again im guessing Balogun and Connolly are of a similar style.
