I think this whole thing is scratching the surface - If we look deeply enough I'm sure we could find countless examples of this sort of thing happening in the past. The question is do we want to look?

Yes we want to look.
you are right of course but we must root out every sexist, racist, homophobic example from the past - as the FA has done with Marc Bola. Back to Yorkshire - We must investigate every County team and invite other victims to step forward and out the racists. Surely Yorkshire are not the only county where this has happened.

I'm not sure it should be about picking out historic tweets etc. For me it's about going through the clubs (the employers), forcing them to demonstrate what they have done, what they are doing now and demanding firm evidence that they are rooting out racist behaviour from top to bottom (not just cleverly-worded mission statements and the like).

Vaughn is denying ever making racist references, Ballance has apologised (sort of)....What do we do with that information?
I'm a big believer in forgiveness. One way that this can be addressed is to collectively admit past wrongs and create an environment where name calling in any shape or form is unacceptable. I just hope that there are no recordings of MV making racist comments

There are written testimonies about his many alleged utterances. People who have a long history of such stuff (if proven) don't belong anywhere near the game.

Vaughan comes across as quite a right wing brexiter on twitter so it would surprise me

I liked Vaughan as a cricketer and captain and he talks a lot of sense imho as a cricket pundit, but I also follow him on twitter and there he comes across as a right arrogant ****. He has a history of right wing tweets, which is fine if that's what he believes, but he also argues the toss with those who disagree with him and that's when his arrogance shines through.

It doesn't surprise me that he may have said something which has come across as racist, but I wouldn't think he is a racist. The problem in my eyes is he felt comfortable saying that as recently as 2009, it's the sort of language which hasn't been tolerated while I have been in the workplace since the early 90s.

Obviously you still come across these attitudes socially, strangely I feel more comfortable in recent years (maybe an age thing?) calling this out, while 10 years ago I may have dismissed it as 'banter'
