The thing is not everyone can go to matches every week making it uneconomical to purchase one. I’ve been following Boro home and away for 45 years and probably had a season ticket for 25 of them years Ayresome Park and the Riverside but due to work commitments had to give it up. I’m again a season ticket holder who goes to all away matches but I’m not classed as a loyal fanIt’s a thankyou for the loyalty of long term ST holders

What counts as a long term season ticket holder? It doesn’t have to be extended to everyone but it would be a nice gesture to open it up to people with 5+ years or even 10+ years each season.It’s a thankyou for the loyalty of long term ST holders

Anyone whose had an ST since the Riverside opened, Gold card holders
It seems to be anyone who’s got a chairman free drink about 7 years
It was a promotion for all ST holders that ended about 10 years I think… but Gibbo generously offered to continue honouring the deal for as long as you kept renewing

If I’m remembering correctly, the chairman’s drink was for people who had a season ticket the year before we got promoted. So some qualified in their second season when we were in the Premier League and have done ever since. It’s a closed shop currently. My point is that it would be nice for people to know they will eventually qualify however long that might be.
