Astra Zeneca vaccine withdrawn

Point was to reduce symptoms and reduce transmission, no vaccine can stop it entirely

Look at the hospital and death data pre and post vaccine. It obviously worked
Yep, I got Covid and ended up with pneumonia and in hospital…I gave blood due to me having very high antibodies, (gave it twice in the end) so I knew how incredibly dangerous this virus was, so I got the vaccines wanting to protect the vulnerable…it made me quite poorly again the first shot, and I got another vaccine later on..got Covid again a second time after the second vaccine and passed it on…so at the time I was disappointed…but looking back it was a new virus and everyone did what they thought was right at the time.

Nobody on here has said anything anti vax - some have said they regret taking the covid one, but that doesn’t mean they won’t take some other vaccine in the future.
I wasnt suggesting that anybody on here was.
There is a world outside of FMTTM, you know. Perhaps, just perhaps I was referring to that :ROFLMAO:

The AstraZeneca vaccine was with withdrawn for people under 40 during Covid after it was shown it was more likely to cause blood clots in younger people and thus more of a risk to them than Covid. I went to a talk by a professor on the Covid Committee and he showed the stats. It has been discussed on here in the past.

I got COVID really bad (ended up in hospital) I didn’t want to take the vaccine, I thought I have the anti body’s now so I should be ok if I managed to catch it again? But my employers were pushing us to get it, it was all over media to still get the jab as it would stop you from catching it again and passing it on to vulnerable people, so I got AZ jab about 3 months after covid….i was ill for a week, back in bed and felt weak as a kitten again for months afterwards and I’d only just started to feel well again.

I got Covid again a year later.
Jesus. Me and the Mrs got the AZ jab twice - we were unsure about it at the time, fortunately we didn’t get any symptoms from taking it but after a few people fell down dead in the months after everyone was vaccinated we decided we would never take one of those again!
Gutted to hear people’s experience has been negative for them with their health

I would never encourage anyone to not get vaccinated.
I agree. It’s personal choice but with more statistics available you can make more informed choices.
At the time, if you recall, you couldn’t go abroad without being vaccinated and we wanted to go for some sunshine ☀️ and weighed up the risk.
Plus, I got COVID and lost my sense of taste and smell for a year!!!

I didn’t want it again….! Or wanted to reduce my chances of catching it again shall we say

It wasn’t more risk than covid. It was more of a risk than taking pfizer. So under -40s were switched. The risk profile changed.

1:50000 chance of small clotting in under 40s, the chance of death was around 1:1500000 with AZ.

This 💯 , so many false claims peddled here, can’t believe some of the posters that I thought better of are posting so much b0llocks on this thread 🤦‍♂️.

It's been a while since I've seen a COVID vaccination debate. What a throwback.

I had one AZ vaccine and never got another vaccination after that and it caused a lot of trouble amongst my family is they tried to pressure me to get it.

As someone who was self employed under a a Limited Company, I was under a lot of financial pressure. I had had a long period of time off work during the first lockdown with no pay or help whatsoever.
I had Covid at the back end of 2020. I was mildly ill but nothing worse than the sniffle and had to isolate for 10 days so had more time off work with no pay despite being well enough to work.

After getting the AZ vaccine, I felt terrible, flu like symptoms for at least a week. I then got COVID 6 weeks later and that was worse still. I was in bed for the best part of 2 weeks which was more time off unpaid. It took me well over 6 months to get my full strength and fitness back.

I decided not to have another vaccine. It had made me feel really ill the first time I'd had it and hadn't done anything to prevent me getting a bad bout of Covid. I didn't want to take the risk of feeling crap again after just starting to recover and potentially have to take more time off unpaid. I also didn't feel like I personally had benefitted from the vaccine.

I accept this was probably selfish of me and if everyone had acted the same way as me then Covid would have been a lot worse both nationally and globally. But at that time I just couldn't afford more time off work and couldn't mentally deal with being that physically ill again as I had felt previously. I was just starting to feel normal again. Like I said, it caused a lot of issues with my parents and my siblings as they tried to pressure me to get it. I hated those days. What an awful time.

Nobody knows the answer to most of these questions. Least of all us.

I never understood at the time (and still don’t) why some people are so profoundly wedded to a particular stance on something they cannot possibly know the answer to.
hallelujah

What makes things worse is anyone who has had a negative experience of any vaccine is immediately shot down as being part of a conspiracy theory.

As you say it's personal choice but it is possible that the vaccine you did have saved your life.

If you were really ill after being vacciniated imagine how bad you might have been without it.

Not selfish of you at all

Wonderful how this has been reported.
On the one hand - no longer needed and there are many alternatives (from AZ)
On the other - banned is some countries and no longer wanted

One of them has to be true?
Just shows how low and stupid people can be.

Was a quick cheap option which saved tens of millions, which was effectively a miracle. Yet a very odd few number of people talk like they were being injected with Ebola. Actually scrub that, the one who whinge, didn't take them, so they seem to have a preference that the others who took them, did not take them, and put themselves and others at much greater risk, very odd, and quite sadistic.

Simply got pulled as there are better options, which are more effective, especially on variants. The risk to takers is beyond negligible, but AZ took a hit because of people's irrational fears and the media choosing clicks over lives.

Just as you can't possibly know what your reaction to getting COVID might have been had you not been vaccinated.
I had covid in May 2020 with literally no symptoms - i only decided to get a test for it because some bozo at worked started coughing in my face at work one Friday morning then phoned up on the Monday saying he had covid
