Britt definitely looks better with Fletcher

That makes you wonder what a decent pacy striker who can finish would do alongside Fletcher (see last night for evidence)

Intelligence trumps pace every time.....but intelligence AND pace, that's a top striker.

Agreed.
Hes too "nice" and will play off an opposing defender by backing - off and taking the easier option.
My Mam might say he needs a rocket shoving [where the sun dont shine]. Now is not the time to be paying money for "potential" in a player who should [by now] be accomplished and reaching his prime. He is 26 this year.

Financially, the club cant carry passengers - we`ve done that for too long. The "market" is depressed and players and their ponsey agents cant tell clubs what they want [else...]. Clubs are in a stronger position to bargain and barter.

My own thoughts are that Ashley Michael Fletcher should move on - along with a few others, and Boro invest their money more wisely on older heads and proven players.

I think he showed his potential last season when he started 29 games at CF and scored 10 and 5 assists. He's competent as a championship CF and would get around 15 if fit and played as a striker for the season.

He was almost too embarrassed to celebrate! Not sure how the keeper didn’t save it. Our keeper would be getting pelters for that.

Yeah, it was like he was clenching his teeth afterwards. For a lad that thrives on confidence he needs to take that one! IT WENT IN! Job done.. dunt matter how they go in.

He was getting there before his injury. He looks to have bulked up too. Warnock will build his confidence to be the bull in the china shop. He’s got everything else.

I would certainly play them both. As for Akpom Id look to offload. Im afraid he's one of lifes average journeymen and that is being polite.

Agree, looked better, more mobile and confident the more he played. A big set back for him and the club when he got injured. Hopefully NW will give him a decent run to get him upto match fitness.

Fletcher deserves a run of games to get back up to speed. He did ok against Huddersfield, nothing spectacular, but also not much wrong. Would BA/Akpom have done more?
Hopefully it wasn’t coincidence that Watmore looked much more dangerous alongside.

Fletcher looked a bit sluggish against Huddersfield lacking sharpness - If he does not pick up there are better options in the summer. But he may still be picking up fitness - need to give him a few more games to fully see.
