Ashley Flechers Demands !!!

I wasn't even fletchers biggest fan when he was in the team getting a few goals.

He has the first touch of a trampoline and weak as p**s.

Good riddance to them both. Utter tripe.
The amount of times he’d chase down a defender with nowhere to go before hauling him down, giving them a fee kick and relieving the pressure had me pulling my hair out. It happened every match.

When they came - I will say I was happy with Assombalonga - however I did not know it was a 4 year contract on say 35k to 40k a week. His track record was excellent and he was the right age. Forest fans were upset at him going which is usually a good sign for the buying club. We needed someone that was fully ready made for the Championship and he seemed it.

With Fletcher I was not happy paying £6.5m for unproven striker and also not aware he was on big money. I would have guessed £15k/week and £2m plus a lot of add ons would have been right value. Now we find out his wages were much higher and a 4 year contract for unproven player. Yes it was crazy, especially with so many strikers at the club.

Players and their agents will ask for high salaries its up to clubs to knock them down. We appear to have forgotten this in 2017. Since 2019 he has been different and although its been less exciting for the fans its better for the club in the long run to pay LIDL prices (with orange sticker) rather than full price Waitrose ones.

No one has mentioned anyone being sacked. However, decisions can and should be scrutinised. There's been plenty of talk over the last few years - Pulis coming in to "have a look at the club and advise Steve", Changing the identify of the club only to go back on it in less than a year later. The Gazette dared to scrutinise what was going on and many of their journos were banned from the stadium!

I'm not being overly critical, but Gibson is good at talking (when he actually does), yet nothing ever changes.

To spunk so much money on players with little or no return - performances, goals and fitness, as well as not being able to sell them on and having to let big contracts run down - shows a complete lack of due diligence.
You miss the point I was making.
Gibson got rid of Monk and did not retain the equally clueless pulis who were the managers who wanted the players.
Gibson got rid of Gill who was Head of Recruitment.
The person who approved the spending is Gibson, not Bausor who is a well paid puppet.

Gibson has got rid of those who chose the players. Of course he has to accept responsibility for the financial side of the deals, because he makes ALL of those decisions.

Fortunately he’s also made ALL those decisions to pump millions into the club for the love of it over the years.

I wonder, if asked, how many fans of other teams would rather have SG as a chairman than their current one. I’m going to guess far more than 50%
They don't know the story, they just know the headlines.
Without Gibson we fold, that is undoubtedly true. He pragmatically and honourably covers his mistakes for now.
Without Gibson in sole charge maybe we wouldn't have over £120m debt and the Club might have some value, which it doesn't.

We are far far too parochial.

look at his non manager in a job policy

Gibson has been fantastic but he’s not infallible, some of his actions post karanka have been staggering

appointing Agnew defied logic

a man who even now is still putting the cones out at Newcastle yes we heralded as some sort of footballing guru

the pullis era

selling Bamford to our biggest rivals for a nominal fee

Spending millions to reach the prem only to watch it slip away at a canter and seemingly being resign to relegation in February.

a lack of looking for outward investment ( not selling up) but looking for other options.

I cannot believe, in the week that we've seen a bunch of egotistcal, out of touch rich men try and shaft football (and I notice that Real and Barca still have their heads in the sand) that anybody is having a real go at Gibson's ownership and management of the club - yes he's made mistakes, yes, he can be a contrary sod, and yes, some of his decisions can and should be challenged, but he's kept this club afloat single handedly for decades

Contracts need to stop being front loaded, paid up regardless of performance, achievement or 'success'
Much more incentive based contracts need to be offered, where clubs are not held hostage to the over hyped ego's of players & agents that - far too frequently - fail to deliver anything like the level of performance their oversized contract reflects; they need to be motivated to actually earn it..

I did something similar Ingleby-F and had to reboot to get back to normal. Who does their IT ?
If you're accessing through a laptop just use ublock origin. Works for me for most sites. Make sure to switch it off for this place though. No idea how to avoid those annoying invasive ads if you're using a phone.

The two free transfers which should put Cardiff City on red alert after Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock's admission

Mick McCarthy wants more options up front next season and two Championship strikers have just become available

Time will tell.

ublock origin is certainly available for Firefox on Android - it's what I use.
I'm sure that's true. I just never access the internet with a phone because I'm still using the same ancient Nokia thing that I've had for nearly a decade and a half now so I didn't really know if it would work on a phone.
