Are you worried about our form?

Only Blackburn and Watford out of the top 16 have a worse record in the last 6 games.

After the game, Carrick said he wasn’t worried.
It’s not far off the famous Woodgate comment.

Its deflection. He's clearly feeling the pressure. If he keeps doing what he's doing he won't see the season out.

Well he will have a “new look” side in the upcoming matches, to a degree, but I’m certainly worried about our defensive mistakes.

In patches, we play some beautiful football. I think that we might sneak into the playoffs. The soft goals conceded, own goals, and calamitous defensive blunders are a massive concern. I shudder to think how many points we have given away as a result of such shoddy mistakes. I keep on thinking that when we cut them out, we will be safely get a playoff place. But but but, we are still giving away these freak goals.

‘Deflection’ - I think you are probably right.
Lets call it what it is, and steer away from politics, though - he’s lying or he isn’t worried.

In my view he should be worried and to tell fans he isn’t is just a slap in the face.

I wouldn’t call it ‘form’ when it’s week in week out, it’s frustrating as hell but why would we have expected anything different.

I agree. It's not form. It's been happening for nearly 2 years. We are mentally weak and can't handle any sort of pressure.

Our form goes from brilliant to all over the place in 90 minutes. I do think we’ve had a lot of bad luck in games, but realise other teams probably have this too.

I’ve accepted we’re not getting promoted already. Feels a bit like it did this time last season. Too many defeats and inconsistent performances.

Not really. Before the season started I thought we'd be right up there competing for the top two places but unfortunately it hasn't turned out that way. Looks like the club have accepted that with the deals we've sanctioned in January. We wouldn't have let Clarke or Latte Lath go if we thought we had any chance of going up.

TBH I don't even really care if we get into the playoffs now because we blatantly haven't got the mentality or robustness to win them. Looking forward to getting to the end of this season, letting the recruitment team go again and seeing what we're like next time round now.

Its all the simple mistakes. I thought last night that while we play some great football at times I cannot remember the last Boro team that made so many unforced errors. Even the new players were doing it.
Absolutely. Mistakes directly leading to goals and dropped points too.

From the top of my head:

Derby
Watford
Preston
Sunderland twice
Cardiff
Portsmouth

All games where basic errors have resulted in goals conceded and points dropped. Boro could and probably should be 10 points better off.

Sadly, I have to agree with you.

The thought of scraping into the playoffs then getting easily beaten over two legs off Burnley or Sunderland..... finishing the season with a whimper, heading into the summer on a right downer......

☹️
