Just curious as to how many users of this board have been striking, or balloted to strike.
I‘ve been surprised at just how many people I know in different sectors that have been balloted or are out on strike already, and as I think the FMTTM forum represents a decent section of community I thought an anonymous poll might give an indication of just how wide stretching industrial action is becoming.

The poll is anonymous and nobody has to give a post or justify their reason for striking, or disclose their job etc. Just want to see the numbers.

I didn’t put a no option because the purpose wasn’t to see who is for or against strikes. It was more a case of seeing what sort of numbers amongst our small online community are currently taking action.

I think you could have added two other options, those who would be favour if balloted to go on strike and those aginst.

I get all the points raised above, but the poll was purely to see how many people currently are taking, or being balloted to take industrial action. Just to see how many of us are currently being directly impacted and prepared to take action.

The for or against strikes is a separate discussion.

Another option would be "Don't belong to a union, and so striking isn't really an option"
Yep, that's what I'd vote. The unions are toothless in the industry I work in and, tbh, in a lot of the private sector advocating for unions is a good way to not have a job for very long!

I do support the NHS, buses, trains and teachers going on strike. I don't really understand the purpose of the driving examiners' strike. But mainly, I do hope these disputes get resolved soon because prolonged strike action is bad for all sides.
