It's the "I know everything about him" bit that gets me. So childish. Reminds me of the verbal dexterity of a recently deposed president.

Don't see the fuss myself. Everyone knows his reputation around here anyway ... whatever he does there doesn't concern us now. I think he will be more successful in the job he has to do towards the end of this campaign than most believe he will be though. I have no idea why mind!

Tends to be typically how it goes when one gets wrote off completely anyway! I have no real feeling about the guy one way or the other, more interested in how we get on here. He's the past, and wouldn't want him back at the club.

I think they'll finish top-six, they've got the squad to do it without a doubt obviously. I was as shocked as anyone that they gave him the role until the season's out at least, a very lucky man indeed .. if he got them up through the play-offs, imagine how crazy that would be. 😂 JW managing Bournemouth in the PL ..
 
just to be clear, he hasnt been given the caretakers manager til the end of the season. he was given a coaches job til the end of the season.
 
Nowt wrong with that like.. .give him a break. Genuinely would like to see him do well as long as like most of our old managers it isn't at our expense, will be interesting if he's still in charge when we go to Dean Court.

From my experience you are wrong. It is mostly his sense of humour. As soon as the camera stops they will be joking. He likes to spar with the media but they do all really get on with him. He is very down to earth. But he has an incredible depth of knowledge about young players. I talked to a former Newcastle reporter once and he said it was the same even when he was playing there.
Have got to say I really enjoyed going to his press conferences at Boro he was so grounded, witty and would talk in depth about players and then switch to memories of buying the sports Gazette at Marton shops.
So he maybe comes across as prickly on the clip but he is very good on a personal level with media. He is well liked. And gives interesting quotes. He has a very unusual turn of phrase. I hope he does well.
