Apparently Simms is being recalled

They have a high asking price because they don't want to sell.
Premier League clubs have the money.
Cov arent a well off team and have done well, but hes only scored as many as Chuba. Otherwise Cov would be sunk.

I genuinely believe Gyökeres is a prem player. I think he will be a terrific signing for someone at 20mil. The guys a right handful and scores all kinds of goals.

I've not seen a better championship player in the flesh in the last couple of years. That's unless he's only good against us (like Gallagher 😂).

I hope he gets a decent move. It weakens Cov and stops the threads on here that we may sign him. Definitely want him moved on before we play them again lol.

I think prem clubs will have been "monitoring" Gyokeres for a while. Last season was the first he'd been anything like prolific in his career and while 18 goals isn't to be sniffed at it's not extraordinary.

With the reported £18m asking price, I think clubs were looking to see if it was a one off. Doesn't look like it, he's sustained it for 18 months now so that asking price is looking a bit more realistic. Beyond most championship clubs though. Even with parachute payments it's a big slice of the budget.

Blow for Sunderland. I'm not sure how much game time he will get at Everton. Also even if he's remotely good enough yet.

Although great opportunity for him.

Hope the new wolves gaffer doesn't fancy a look at Giles. Way to much positive press from sky and social media about him. Let's keep him on the 'down low' 😂
Fortunately Wolves have three decent enough left backs already in Al Nouri, Bueno and Vinagre.

Vardy is the exception.
If Gyokeres offered anything in the Premier League there would have been clubs sniffing after him.....

Really? What about Andy Robertson, Callum Wilson, John Stones, Mahrez, Ivan Toney, Kevin Phillips? Theyre just off the top my head, I'm sure theres loads more who like them played at championship or lower then went on to be very successful in the Premier league.

There`s as many if not more who have tried and failed.
The point is, if hes worth the money - why has no one sniffed after him.
Even more so - is Chuba not worth as much, if not more?
As for the original point, Simms departure is going to be a real hit for Tony Mowbray. (y)

We nearly signed Simms in the summer, I think we opted for Forss instead on a permanent.

Even though he's been great for Sunderland and would potentially have been great for us too.... Dodged a bullet if he is getting recalled. It'll be hard to replace a 7 goal (half season) striker in January.

Simms recalled by Everton

Everton have taken the decision to recall Ellis Simms from his loan spell with Sunderland.
Frank Lampard revealed at his Friday press conference the Blues were considering bringing the 21-year-old back to Goodison Park in a bid to bolster attacking options, made possible by a clause in his contract enabling Everton to cut short his stay on Tyneside.*

*"Tyneside"?

Yeah I'd not swap Chuba for anyone in the Championship at the moment.
Simms is a big loss to the Mackems, especially as how they play is reliant on his strengths.
