Apologies for swearing

I wonder if OFCOM makes the production companies do it.
Which again begs the question as to why?

Even if a million people complained to OFCOM they aren't going to ban football from the airwaves.

If it's a contractual thing then why not just have the "May contain swearing and simulated behaviour" warning before every match?

If the players aren't supposed to do it then apply the laws and start cautioning them.

Theres more to get worked up over than apologies for swearing. I couldnt give a hoot if they do or don't. A mate of mine always moans on about it too. I say the reason they do it is because if they dont some prissy moaners will inundate the station with complaints probably. So they head it off.

Correct they do , but does that make it right because of prissy moaners who probably have never attended football dictate what most people who go to football grounds know ......people swear sometimes .........never heard a gadgie stand up in the Riverside & apologise for any swearing in the N Stand ever !!!, swearing happens ...they would never ever, DARE to mic up refs & let people hear the abuse ....... being a oldie i remember the George graham film where they did it ........never again was it repeated as a experiment .......& the game went on

I didn't say it was right. I just suggested a reason why they do and that it doesn’t particularly bother me.

'They can issue yellow cards, and probably should, but don't, or the first one is classed as a warning, a bit like how you get away with a hard early tackle, but the second gets booked.'

No way should any player get a yellow for swearing. Somebody kicks you in the nadgers and you are gonna say Oh Crikey?
And most of the swearing comes from the side lines anyway. Well the bits I hear do anyway! I rarely notice until it's pointed out by the commentator, as some have said above

Just part of life. If you don't like your kids hearing it, turn the sound down when the footie's on. They probs don't hear it and have likely heard loads worse in movies anyway
