Apathy or Anger

Anger - extreme anger. As i have expressed on another thread. My views do upset some people ( to say the least)! But I hold them as I realise NOTHING will alter. To see the club in this state is frankly disappointing and alarming.

During the game I was sat in my seat, 2-0 down, and just couldnā€™t be arsed to feel any anger. I was looking at others around me who were shouting in pure rage and thinking to myself, whatā€™s the point in that? whatā€™s that going to do? I guess you could call that apathy.
Exactly how I felt.

The height of my passion was to stand and politely applaud when Watmore scored the consolation goal.

ā€œBless emā€, I thought, ā€œsomething for them to remember from the gameā€.

It was a bit like when I hit a pearler off the tee in golf. Nice feeling but ultimately futile as I still end up with a triple figure score.

Very apathetic about football in general, there are plenty of other things that will take my money and time in the next few months.

Regarding Boro we are at a low point in the giant rollercoaster that we ride. Only six months ago we were discussing whether the team would be good enough in the premier league if we got through the playoffs and now we look at the same players facing relegation.

What annoys and angers me, is the perception that we are going to be challenging next year, just so that you buy the season tickets each year.

The angriest I got yesterday was at the bar staff in the concourse. Why they donā€™t pre-pour pints Iā€™ll never know. About four lads stood there looking gormless and one poor lass legging it about serving people.
It says a lot about the club that this never changes (it's like they don't actuallywant to make more money), albeit yesterday was one of the quietest / shortest pre-match bar queues I've seen in a long time in the WSU.

On the main topic of the thread, the apathy was palpable in the crowd both at Millwall last week (one of the quietest away ends I've heard in a long time for us) and yesterday (barely a handful of the South Stand singing until thinks picked up in the second half).

Good thread this, cathartic too. Weā€™ll look back and smile at this when we are losing next season to Newcastleā€™s U21s in the šŸ• Trophy. Keep the faith, as the old uns used to say, you can always rely on the Boro to let you down! At least most of us have seen us in Cup Finals, winning a cup and Europe, folk like my grandad never saw us get past the sixth round of the FA Cup!
