Kav didn’t want to stay, he wasn’t going to sign a new contractRather have kept kavanagh and developed him. SG is a tad expensive in wages. I think he doesnt stand out any different than say crooks who was on less money and offerred more to the team.
Nope he absolutely had 4 league starts in his career before he came to usI think he has played a lot more than 4 league games before he came here. But yes, he is still very young ( a point which I keep on forgetting as I think that he looks older than he really is) and quite inexperienced.
A lot of attacking players lack consistency. Let's face it, if he was the finished article then he would not be available for 1.5m.
If his wages were reasonable then maybe - he is a player that we might be able to develop. Anyway, its the wages. As I said before, I cant see him signing permanently.
1.5m gets you very little in todays gameHis goal at Sunderland and free kick against Leicester were things of beauty. I think 1.5 million is cheap really.
We dont want bang average championship players unless we want to stagnate in this divisionHe had a great spell in October/November where he scored 4 goals in 6 league games. He then got 2 assists in the next 2 games.
I agree that when he has a bad game, it's very noticeable, but he's definitely not given the credit he deserves when he plays well - which is 50 50 for me.
If he'll drop his wages, £1.5 million is an absolute steal for a average championship player - even if he's sitting on our bench.
Where is his position hes not a wide man or striker or no 10Works hard, has an edge that you need and is in a position that is tough to play in our team. Has had to play up front due to injuries or left attacking. Has Azaz or McGree done much more? You only have to look at Muniz to see how things can change very quickly for a young attacking player. Depends what his agent wants.
Comes down to this doesn't it - he takes the big wages to sit on the bench in the Prem, or he wants to play games and agrees the wage hit. If it's the latter, £1.5m for a young player in an attacking position who can produce game winning moments is a good deal. His work rate suggests that he cares enough that it's at least a possibility he'll come in the summer.Leeds will be promoted so he gets a big pay rise. Hence its a non starter.
He's a striker who isn't strong or fast enough to play there. He makes decent runs and he can finish but it's difficult to get the ball into him when he's up against defenders. Because of that he's been played as winger or 10 where he doesn't have the attributes and he makes the wrong runs, the wrong decisions and he tackles like a striker. He either has to learn how to be an attacking midfielder and be more creative or he tries to be a striker at a lower level.Where is his position hes not a wide man or striker or no 10
