Anyone into shoegazing tunes?

I didn't work with many "shoegaze" bands, largely because my creative partner, the late Steven Wells (SWELLS) didn't like them a whole lot and tended to take the **** out of them in the NME. We did do this though, as we got on well with the Creation mob.

Slightly before the shoe gaze phrase was coined, but for dreamy pop you can’t beat Frazier Chorus imho

Just bought "waves of distortion" shoegaze compilation. It's a belter. Couple of tunes stretch the definition but a great way to while away a couple of hours.

I didn't know swells had died. I'm sorry. His reviews were always the most amusing in NME in the mid 80's

He died on the same day as Michael Jackson and Farah Fawcett-Majors. Even now I find myself momentarily thinking about calling him or "Swells will love this" .... very much missed. And, as you say, a very funny man.

You worked with Swells? The most loved yet hated man in the whole of NMEland! You must have some stories!!
