Anyone heard how many have renewed so far?

As someone who has constantly put across the argument that our ST prices are fair, would you have been as forceful in your argument if you were paying £650 for that same seat? (Without the free pint)
As you know, and I have posted several times that I did not agree with any of this years increases. I thought prices last year were correct for the over 65s and adults with free drink offer. I have also said the new ST prices are too high and should be closer to the renewed price. I did say the Stoke City prices were too low, I think it was £349 for adult, because of two reasons, its not economically sustainable and secondly it does cheapen the product, Championship football is better than £15 a match (for example this week a lot of Champ players have been on international duties and many are paid £1m a year). £650 is too high for a single adult ticket. My first Riverside ST was £220 (1995) about £440 in todays money thats in the ball park region of what we should charge (with no special perks) in my humble opinion. I hope that answers your question.

Not everyone can afford a ST and if they can but choose not to have one, I’m sure they have taken priority points into consideration.

Of course, for many, away games aren’t something they do regularly, if at all. So not a consideration for those.

Even having a ST doesn’t guarantee a ticket to an away game as point requirement often exceeds the base amount you get with a ST and if it’s popular not all ST holders who want to can attend.
Don't disagree with any of your points Linny.

For fans on low/no incomes I have asked on here for a scheme where unused STs can be used by deserving cases. Some posters were even doing something informally. I guess its hard to manage and until recently outlawed by MFC ("ST is not transferable"). If I was on the supporters group it would be asked for.

My guess is that about 8,000 Boro fans (who are STs or use a ST's ticket) do go to at least one away game - we had 4,500 at Chelsea didn't we? so alot do find the PPs useful. Once you don't renew they are all gone too

The vast majority of season ticket holders don't bother with away games anyway.
My guess is around 8,000 do attend an away game at some point in a season or lend ther rights out to others to attend.

I know it was back in 2022 but didn't we sell 10,000 MU away tickets to ST holders only?

Surely it must be economically sustainable if clubs manage their finances - foreign clubs have been charging people far less for ages. Bundesliga clubs have standing season tickets available from an average of 196 euros - every club has these on offer.

Our most expensive adult tickets in west stand upper for early bird and full price:

£671
£735

The most expensive Bayern Munich season ticket is 840 euros (£718), cheapest standing 165 euros (£141), cheapest seat 385 euros (£329), with match tickets often doubling as free rail passes for public transport. Even the smaller clubs have these cheap prices, and they carry into Bundesliga 2.

Virtually no championship club has a sustainable ticket pricing model. They rely on owners' subsidies and parachute payments. There probably isn't a ticket pricing model where revenues would cover the current level of costs. Here's a reasonable article in the Athletic - 'Championship finances broken'

But a lot of Premier League teams have cheaper tickets than us as well. Having more affordable tickets doesn't cheapen the product. It makes it more accessible. Which football of all levels should be. From Premier League to Northern League.

Although it seems you do agree that we are far too high. £440 would be a fair price. I agree. We are £130 more expensive than that for a first time buyer (with Eb discount)

Just renewed for myself and the two kids. They love going, 12 and 14 girls but they both love going to non league games too! We were at Hebburn the other evening as interested Stockton fans living in Durham!

The club better hope that season ticket renewal is high because there won’t be many walk ups at the prices they charge.

Once you drop the habit of having a season ticket and going to every game, from my experience, you’re unlikely to go to a lot of games.

That's if you get your free drink.
Mate was first time concession (over 65) last season so they issued him a new card before season started unfortunately it wouldn't work for free pint.
Went to ticket office many times to be told it should now work, next match same again. By end of season supervisor at bar was just giving him his free pint anyway (which he had to sign for). She was so sick of the arguments over it.
My first concession (over 65) next year so new card to be issued, I am expecting same chew. We shall see.
Hope I don’t get any chew, renewed my season card but moved seats into my daughters seat, as she is not renewing, hope it doesn’t mess with the free pint.

That would be me, either renew or don’t go, I know I wouldn’t fork out for single games.

I am glad we can agree on the Boro price. :)

When posters complain during next season about STs getting all the away tickets and how its impossible because they have everything sewn up - remember these painful times on the wallet and a season where we have not been above 8th/9th all season..
Can’t see away tickets being in too much demand next season minus 2/3 games

I gave up trying to get my free drink as it would never work on my digital ticket nonsense 😟
