Anyone had the dreaded lurgy this week?

Felt rough on Thursday morning took a test, negative. Felt even worse Friday. Took a test in the morning and afternoon, both negative. Felt like utter **** Saturday and still both negative tests. So it's the dreaded lurgy or otherwise known as man flu, sniffles or a heavy cold.

Feeling better today than the past few days so a lot can be said for sudafed, co-op's own lemsip and a few glasses of whiskey before bed.

The only good thing about the whole Covid/lockdown/social distancing situation is that I haven't had a cold for a year and a half, I used to seem to get taken out by one a couple of times a year.

Same here, negative for Covid but this has been a rough ride. Not had a cold like this for as long as I can remember.

Bl00dy ell Randy it needed a Lemsip, that is proper man flu and you've done well to be able to summon the energy to post

Yes this lurgy got me earlier this week. Negative covid test but it's difficult to shift and a good excuse for hot toddies and comfort food. 🍰

The wife had it a couple weeks ago but it lasted a while, done tests every other day for covid but all negative. Her parents had it and my mam did, I’ve not had it mind.

Didn’t look fun.

I work in a school and we've all had the sore throat, cough and headaches, feeling really rough, bar one colleague... who tested positive for covid and had to stay off. 🤦‍♂️

Monday update, day 5 of the lurgy. Feeling much better again although still a bit bunged up. Sudafed supply is nearly gone, the whisky has gone and but last night's sleep was the best sleep I've had in years.
Predicting that by Wednesday Randy will be back to full fitness.

Been through our house bud, all 4 of us all negative as well.

wife suffered the worse. Had it for over a week. Mine lasted about 5 days, Friday-Tuesday

Not to hijack Randy's man flu thread but I had noravirus about 3 years ago whilst working in Amsterdam. I spent a week in bed hoping the next day would be better then spent a whole day at the airport trying to get a flight home when runway was closed due to snow. I then spent another week at home in bed. I thought I was dying

It's been doing the rounds where I work. Couple of staff members have actually been off sick with chest infections.

Amazingly I haven't caught it but then since the start of this pandemic I've stopped getting head colds. I used to average 3 or 4 head colds a year.

I think handwashing has been a big reason behind that. Touching contaminated surfaces and then touching your face is one of the biggest causes of the spread of infection. I now use hand gel regularly whilst on shift.
