Anyone for chlorinated chicken?

I've almost certainly eaten this in the US as I think it's fairly common, but then I live in a country where the President recommends injecting Domestos.

For me as a minimum it should be a consumer choice in the same way free-range eggs are. Labelling should give people the choice.

I've lived here since 2005 , it's easy to get chicken that's not processed in the way. That said, you'll have to pay X2 for it.
People want cheap meat & I bet most on the UK will be glad to get it after the initial grumbles

Well the revolution didn't last long!

They want to get rid of that don't they? Reduce the labeling on packages. For this very reason I suspect.

I guarantee the Brexiteers will welcome it with open arms. Nothing, damaged economy, damaged world position and even damaged health of the population will stop them praying for their unicorn.

From personal experience, chlorinated chicken tasted just as nice as any other chicken in the US and back home in the UK.

I can see something of a compromise on this, we agree to importing US chlorinated chicken but will be clearly labelled in supermarkets. Either way, you have a choice in your local supermarkets, if you don't like it, don't buy it.

I think the point is they DON'T want it clearly labelled. double whammy. The brexit boys will eat it regardless I guess, ignorance being bliss.

You can already get a whole chicken for under £3. How much cheaper can importing chlorinated chicken be for it to be anything other than a headline grabbing issue because it sounds bad? Our own, and the EU's farming habits can be disgusting. Have you seen a battery hen farm? It's not like we're allowing a new hideous practice into our perfect world.

Urgh chlorine, sounds disgusting but wait a sec, we wash our fruit and veg in chlorinated water already so .

So when you buy your chicken. Look for the part where it says 'USA' then go off and buy your British or Irish chicken. It really is that simple.

WTF has it got to do with how you voted?
I am a brexiteer and prefer high welfare meat, so no, and NO!

I'm just saying the majority of Brexiters, when expressing opinions, show a lack of regard for facts and figures and also want the process done at all costs.

One of these costs, it becomes apparent, is poorer quality meat. The brexiteers will happily eat this because it's "got brexit done"

All of your posts show a lack of regard for anything but your own opinion. They are baseless and contain no facts as evidenced above where you manage to explain how all brexiteers think as if they are a single organism based solely on your own prejudices. Thankfully most remainers don't think exactly like you else the world would be a much worse place.

I've explained how I've formed my opinions, you can happily go and check on social media posts from Brexiteers to verify why I have formed this opinion.

Shakes head in amazement that someone would expose such stupidity in a public place. Boromike give a more considered response.
