Picked mine.

Always bring back memories of my dad. For years after he died I would end up in tears when I went to see Billy Bragg. Wanted it at his funeral but it didn't happen.

Lots of artists have sung it, but my first choice would be the Joe Strummer version.

Why: a haunting and inspirational tune centred around an innocent surrounded by desolation and destruction.

Nothing to do with its use by NYPD or Black Hawk Down.
