The NHS is woefully underfunded with mental healthy at the bottom of the list. They just dont have the budget.
I have had some great GPs but I have had endless problems with a lot of GPs, some of whom who actually made things worse with a shocking lack of sympathy. I was at a point, like a lot of people, where it wasn't going to be possible for me to bring myself out of a hole. I needed medication & qualified, experienced support.
In the end I paid to see a private consultant. She was an horrible cow but did the business, pretty quickly.
