Had a 2016 XC60 D4 SE nav from brand new as a lease.. just sent it back the day we went in to lock down... I’ll break the review down for you below
engine... bullet proof just like you would expect. Mine was 190bhp and if I pushed it not much would overtake it.
ride... a bit spongy even for an SUV... did role in the corners
comfort... I’ve had loads of cars including Jags and Mercs... I have never had a more comfortable car than the Volvo. Was quite happy to drive for 4-5 hours and never felt bad for it.
space... the boot is huge never ran out of room even with 3 adults and two kids in tow... the back seat was massive
toys... sat nav, DAB, cruise, Bluetooth. Only thing it missed was a link like apple play but the new models have it now. Sat nav was a bit daft sometimes as it was going for the shortest route as the crow flies.
bad bits...
Mine was only 2WD but was stupidly heavy on fuel... it would empty the tank on a run to Dorset (£70 quid) where as most other cars I have had do it on half a tank
daft on front tyres too.. was lucky to get 10-12k out of them for no valid reason ( actually found the economy tyres the best around 65-80 a corner)
service A was around £275 from mills... the B was £400 so on the dear side
brakes were about standard about every 20k.
all in all a lovely car... I wanted a new one when that one went back but the prices have shot up on the new model and I wasn’t gonna pay the difference for essentially the same car... they are now overpriced
looked at the XC40 but the boot is tiny and it’s the same price as my old 60 so I wasn’t prepared to downsize for the same money either
