Exclusive: Department for Education monitoring social media posts from England-based staff for criticism of its policies
This could backfire on them. It's time for all education workers to put in Subject Access Requests. If we overwhelm them with mindless data processing tasks then they might gain some appreciation of how the rest of us feel. This doesn't surprise me. The DfE and its Ofsted cronies has long been a educational dictatorship using surveillance to exercise its power and control. Our educational system is very controlling and backward for a so-called advanced democratic state. The centralization of power and control over the educational system is akin to a fascist state, aided by surveillance through technology and corporate (MAT) organisations. The schools get bigger, technological surveillance more advanced, the power more centralized, so we end up in this situation. Technology and those who control it now control teaching and learning. I know this because I work in schools and see it happening.
