Any Caeliac's on here?

Guest
we have a client visiting with some dietary requirements - i'm ignorant as to what Celiac's rules in/out in all honesty

can anyone advise what would be appropriate (and pleasant) to get for a lunch visit rather than just buying a lettuce?

TIA

My wife is Coeliac. If it's lunch, do a nice salad with some fresh meat/fish/rice etc. all good. Just stay away from bread, and ensure that any dressing doesn't contain wheat/barley etc.

Or a greek salad. Leaves, peppers, onions, tomato, olive oil and Feta Cheese with some herbs etc. Always a winner

I think atypical is pulling your leg, they're not that great really, Dominos Pizza do one that the wife likes if you bang a few extra toppings on, Tandoori Chicken/Jalapenos etc

If all else fails. Marks & Spencer have a pretty good sandwich and wrap selection in their 'Made without wheat' range. Look out for the green packaging.

We often do that if out shopping and want something easy, along with some of their handcooked crisps etc. (Careful with the Salt and Vinegar ones though, Balsamic is fine, Malt vinegar is no good)

Be very careful when checking what is and isn't suitable as some Coeliac sufferers have very extreme reactions to the slightest trace of gluten.

Most supermarkets have free-from ranges that you can look at and depending on where you are you might actually be near a gluten-free cafe that would happily cater for you.

If you've got an android phone then search for 'coeliac' and install the gluten-free scanner UK app and one of the find gluten-free apps for assistance.
