The other night I walked into the room halfway through this advert and asked my wife if she was about to watch a thing about Fred West. She looked at me like I was an idiot and told me it was a B&Q advert.

I am oblivious to the majority of ads. If I cannot block them I avoid them.
I watch nothing live that will have adverts in except sport. Football I don't watch anything other than the match itself and can avoid half time ads mostly. Cricket is harder but still possible to avoid the majority.
Ads in printed media I obviously see but pay no attention to them unless its in a music magazine where I maybe have some interest and I choose to look at them then.
I rarely use social media or the internet on my phone so avoid ads that way. On my laptop I use **-******** so hardly see any ads

I have a 7 day back track on my box. I avoid watching most progammes live.
Esp MOTD so I just fast forward through the pundits BS.
Similarly can fast forward through the ads on ITV. On the rare occasion there is anything worth watching there

The purpose of an advert surely is to get people talking about it or more specifically remember it, so that when you go into the supermarket or are deciding on a product you choose the one that is familiar.
Whether thats because it is good, bad or annoying is largely irrelevant. The Go Compare ad camapign is a pretty good example.
