Annoyingly difficult "easy" jobs

Not making a complete mess of cling film when trying to unravel it evenly… might just be me.
Get yourself a wrapmaster 4500 and you'll never use conventional cardboard boxed cling film ever again. They are one of the world's greatest inventions.

Colgate Sensitive has now changed this but getting the little silver covering off the end of the toothpaste was a pain in the backside. No matter how much I tried, I would make a mess of it and have toothpaste everywhere.

They're good for removing and refitting the same one, but the plugs aren't all the same size. So if the lid/ seat gets broke, you sometimes have to change the plugs as well. This ends up being annoying, when you bought one for the exact reason of not having to change the plugs.
But surely in that case you would just buy the same one?

I don't buy them so I don't have to change the plugs, I buy them so I can take them off to clean them easily. Our toilets get cleaned regularly, but they don't get the seats changed regularly. The old style seats you have to take them apart like that every time you want to clean them properly, if the lid breaks you aren't any worse off than you were before as you'd have to do that part anyway, but if you want to clean it, or swap it for a like-for-like one, you just push a button and lift, and click it back on

Cleaning any weapon is ****, although saying that with my experience of having to clean only one type, and not as complex as a GPMG!

The thing is, when it matters (not on a course) you do a damn good job of it, as if you need it, you really want to make sure it's going to work
That's an horrific flashback lol.

Doing a shoot on a Friday morning and having to clean before going weekenders. To be fair all gas parts in general. We used to get told 'don't use scotch bright'. Cheers.... That's exactly what you use😂

My nomination: Changing headlight bulbs on any modern vehicle.
Mine are retained by a wire spring clip, however, actually gaining access to the clip requires the hands of a 5 year old and the strength of Garth to unclip it.
Mine requires the headlamp unit removing to get at the bulb holders.

It’s hard to know what the original one was, or where bought from, and designs change (intentionally) so they don’t fit. Not always “like for like” and a lot of places change lines often. They are much better though, in many ways.

But even if all that does happen, you've still been able to clean your toilet properly for many years. You're no worse off because you'd have to do all that with a non-quick release

Those clip on toilets are great for removing and re fitting to clean, but the initial fitting of or having to tighten them up because your daughters landlord fitted them wrong is up there with headlamps in my opinion…

Have been able too, but doesn’t mean it happens. Still think the missus just leaves it connected to clean anyway, not even sure if she knows how the button works. I find it easier if you just don’t make a mess in the first place 😂

There is hardly any price difference. We have them on all our toilets and you can clean them in about 30 seconds instead of messing around with bolts. Or I guess you can just have the old fashioned ones and have **** accumulate between the plastic and the toilet. When buying a toilet seat these days, absolutely no reason to not get one that isn't soft close and quick release as both things just make life simpler.
Don’t see it, I see a gimmick

Buying the wife a Birthday or Christmas present.Weve lived together for 35 years and think we know each other pretty well.
However any gift I buy she looks at me with ambivalence and pity....I fret for minutes prior to buying😬.
