angela raynor calling tories scum

The Labour Party are something of a recurring car crash really.

We are living through times of unprecedented strife with ever more emerging issues negatively impacting on people’s daily lives, this overseen by a government which often manages to display only the thinnest patina of competence.

Unbelievably the opposition leader has been anonymous throughout this, he hasn’t taken any ground and it is a standing joke that he has no policies.

Then of course the in fighting starts again, they just can’t help attacking each other can they

Does this party really want to be in government?

Their behaviour would suggest otherwise.

Sadly, I must agree. It's a most depressing state of affairs. But of course the only reason we're discussing this is because our media have encouraged us to, by making such a huge issue of the woman basically telling the truth - and the media itself is almost wholly owned by people who I'd class as way to the right.

The Corbyn fans really need to let it go. I voted to have him as leader twice. I was wrong. He lost, badly, and his time is gone. They need to stop the petty booing and name-calling of the current leader, or leave. In politics you very rarely get exactly what you want. Politics is the art of the possible, and you either take what improvements you can or get out. Jeremy couldn't handle the media. Yes they were disgraceful but he had his chance and buggered it up. Time to accept it and move on.

This.

The Centre/Right of the Party acted disgracefully to undermine Corbyn for two years when he first came in. Some of them were not just trying to undermine Corbyn, but working to negatively impact the Party as a whole simply to make it look more damning for Corbyn. A very small number even carried on in exactly that same vein even after the 2017 GE result.

The Left were furious and with some justification.

Now the Left are doing the same.

Both were/are wrong, but the sequence is important. The Left have seen and felt what this does for the Conservatives, it is absolutely fresh in their memories. They have just been given a clear opinion from the general public on them. Whatever the unsavoury and unprincipled behaviour from the right was, at least they have the excuse of being correct.

The Left, rather than accept they did a poor job and retire with dignity to lick their wounds and reflect on how to do things better or differently in the future, for the greater good of the public, are instead acting as poorly as the Right did, which they moaned furiously about. So they are not only as unprincipled as their colleagues, they have the added deficiency of hypocrisy.

And also, they were rejected by the public, yet again. When will they learn?

Baloney. When you say "the left" who do you mean and what are you accusing them of? There's been nothing like "the same" as what the right of the party got up to during the covid years.

Hiding party funds so they could use them to prop up their favoured MPs.

Messaging journalists to tell them where Diane Abbott was and that she was seen upset so they could harass her.

Jon Ashworth coordinating a leaked call with his tory mate to embarrass the party days before the 2019 election.

MPs that publically ruled themselves out of being considered for shadow cabinet posts while Corbyn was leader.

Hodges insults at him in Parliament. Jess Phillips saying she'd stab him.

What's your equivalent? Where's the same? Surely not just Andy McDonald resigning cabinet? Some random person nobodys ever heard of heckling Starmer's speech?

Probably her fault for flashing her legs at him, because she was intimidated by his superiority?

That's the go to defence isn't it?

I wonder why her? I presume from her profiling by the right wing media?

If you want to make death threats to a woman he could find a more local one?

I hope it isn't linked back to this thread on this forum - or those posting on this thread might find themselves being called on to give evidence or make statements - I know that it is most unlikely but it would not be the first time.
