It's really good isn't it? Warning of cars breaking down, hazards in the road, po-po. And as you say it's the most accurate of all the Navs. Really useful
 
is it more accurate than google maps?
I really like MagicEarth for it's ability to download maps, use the phone cam as a dashcam (signpost detector), it's 3dness and no journey logging but it just doesn't do a good job like google maps when it comes to re-routing due to traffic/accidents/road closures etc.

First make sure you have the latest versions of Waze and Android Auto installed. Then on my phone (Samsung) I go to Settings > Connected Devices > Android Auto > Customise Launcher. That lets you select which apps appear.

If that hasn't worked in the past I have just had to open the app on my phone before connecting to the car and then that seems to pick it up. I had to do that for a Podcast app.

Thanks for that! I did most of the first bit. I'll try launching with the app running. Hopefully that'll pick it up
 
I’ve had similar problems with Apple CarPlay and the Alexa/Echo car device too. Basically, it’s all hugely flawed crap.

Could be. But I mean I’m using normal USB cables and it’s a brand new car, so it all should work.

I actually don’t think my experience with the Echo Auto is unique at all though.

If it's a brand new car doesn't it have Android Auto or carplay?

I was just going on the responses on this thread. Major problems seem few and far between. Are you using the USB cable supplied with the phone?
 
I've never has any really issues other than dropping out or freezing the odd time. It works perfectly during 99% of usage.

I've only ever had the cable option and not the wireless. I believe one 'fix' if it's not working well is to get a decent cable or preferably the one that comes with the phone.

I read that cheaper after market charging cables are fine for charging but struggle with data transfer. Car forums recommend the one that came with it and not a £2.75 one off amazon 😂

My Seat Leon is the same. But i got one of the aa wireless dongles which plugs into the USB socket and converts it to wireless. you Just need to be careful that the dongle you buy works with the type of phone you have (IOS or Android). Aa wireless is for android phones.
