ANDOR out today

I like start wars but have only watched the first 6 films, is there an order to watch them all in including the series? Think I might have a go at it.
From a timeline point of view the films and spin-offs are best watched in the following order (I think).

Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace
Star Wars: Episode 2 - Attack of The Clones
Star Wars: Episode 3 - Revenge of The Sith
Solo: A Star Wars Story
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Andor
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Star Wars: Episode 4 - A New Hope
Star Wars: Episode 5 - The Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars: Episode 6 - Return of The Jedi
The Mandalorian
The Book of Boba Fett
Star Wars: Episode 7 - The Force Awakens
Star Wars: Episode 8 - The Last Jedi
Star Wars: Episode 9 - The Rise of Skywalker

i am upto to episode 8. This is a really enjoyable dark series, the oppressive prison scenes are brilliant sci-fi and I love the nasty politics and ambitious human nature shown behind the empire. Not a lightsabre in sight and all the better for it. First couple of episodes were slow but its well worth persevering with

just watched 9 at the weekend. loving the locations so far this series. the prison is a spectacle to behold. the last 2 minutes of 9 have got me counting down to 10.

Season finale is out. Just watched it. Ending could have been a bit better IMO but overall a great series. Also, don't stop watching when the credits appear at the end of the final episode.

Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace
Star Wars: Episode 2 - Attack of The Clones

Andor

Star Wars: Episode 6 - Return of The Jedi
The Mandalorian
The Book of Boba Fett
Star Wars: Episode 7 - The Force Awakens
Star Wars: Episode 8 - The Last Jedi
Star Wars: Episode 9 - The Rise of Skywalker
I have a book called "How Star Wars Conquered The Universe" which came out just as The Force Awakens was opening and it says that you should watch the first six films in a different order. I cannot remember the order though.

I think it was this order.

  • Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope
  • Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
  • Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
  • Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
  • Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
  • Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

I thought it was fantastic. Well written, acted and edited. The scene where he tries to persuade his mum to go with him was incredibly moving, like something from a Sidney lumet movie. The post credits scene was 2001esque spectacle. And Andy serkis "never more than twelve men". Class.
I love classic star wars pew pew fairy tale rescue the princess from the castle type stuff but it was good to see them try something different and pull it off.

Just binged watched Andor over the last 4 days, and outside of the original.movies it is the best Star Wars related project I have seen, it was this thread that got me eventually into it, so thanks to a good recommend from you posters.

Hope it’s better than the other recent Disney releases… Obi Wan was terrible, Book of Boba Fett also disappointed me, The Mandalorian was the only one worth watching IMO
The Mandalorian was as good as the original three star wars I thought. Didn't think that much of Obi Wan or BOBF mind, they were about as bad as Episode 1.
