That’s true but he really struggled in Australia and I do think the burden esp in big games wasn’t helping.

Will Young is a good player, just needs to get in. Kane is coming back from a year out (long form game) so I’ll forgive him here. It’s more Conway and Latham who need to get a grip.

Think we will improve in the 2nd test.

This has been his incredible improvement of last year or so. He was already brilliant but to have upped this rate is a fantastic thing to be able to do and puts right at the top of best batsmen rankings for me.

I actually think him being captain (when improvement started) made him concentrate on this so as not to be seen to be letting sides off the hook - sadly nobody has really backed him up during this time.
