Anderson and Broad......

From your photo I see you were high up in the Compton New Stand AM. I was to your right in the Grandstand Lower. Only if we had known it would have been good to meet you. Did you get there early enough to hear that truly awful rendition by Lesley Garrett and her co-singer?. My ears!

It was interesting to see the changes at the Nursery End with the construction of Edrich and Compton stands. We met up in the lunch interval with a couple of mates at the bar at the back of the media centre and boy was it crowded funnelling from the grandstand to the Nursery area. Absolutely concur never use St Johns Wood tube station when leaving but walk an extra 5 mins to Baker St. Also Id recommend always use the Grace Gates entrance as it is much the quietest for the morning entrance.

Another tip is if you want a decent pub for an after match pint on the way back to Baker St that you head for the SirJohn Balcombe on Dorset Sq. Always well staffed and good beer. The pub stands on the site of the original Lord’s Cricket Ground as laid out by Sir Thomas Lord and where the first Ashes game took place.
How much for a pint then Zoo ??

£7.00 a pint plus £1 deposit for the plastic glass. Lots of people gathering up said glasses off the floor at the end of the day and returning them for a £1 back each. ( saw one fella with about 20 - and no doubt subsidising said price. )

Beer was Hobgoblin session IPA but there was a fair choice. Lords is good for that. Other test grounds don't have such choice.

I doubt it will go to day 3. We need to dig in and not lose a wicket before lunch otherwise I think we are screwed.

Four opening bowlers in this test have over 1800 test wickets between them
Great for Potts to learn from.
