You’re basically saying akpom is worth 3.5 times what archers is. It’s just so wide of the mark
 
I don't think we could turn down £25m. In fact I suspect that's kind of the model we're going for now, sell the superstar for stupid money then try identify the next one before anyone else, a la Brentford.

But I don't think we'll be offered £25m either given he's nearly 28, only got 1 year left and the risk of him being a 1 year wonder.

We'll see.

It was obviously an over exaggeration, Archer is worth at the most £12m IMO, Akpom probably in the £20m ballpark.

Archer is a young English striker with a great work ethic and he's a clinical finisher. Hes scored 2 in 2 for England at U20 level. 4 in 5 at U21 level. Was excellent on loan at Preston last season. He's scored 11 in 20 for us since he joined on loan at the turn of the year. And you think we could get him for £10 million? He's one of the most highly rated young strikers in the country!

Many boro fans share my view on jones and a lot on this forum. He isn’t good enough.
 
Anyone thinking Archer a man who has so many years ahead of him, an England U21 international, is only worth £10M-£12M and Akpom, after one full season of actually doing well, and already at his peak, is worth at least £8M is misguided at best, that or they worked previously for MFC dealing with player sales.

Archer is IMHO a bargain at the £20M alleged fee. He is worth more than Akpom and more likely to be a success in the PL to boot. If it were true Gibson would pay it out of his personal piggy bank and sell him on for profit soon after, In the housing market its called flipping. I can see it now cries of “5flipping Archer” 🤣

hmm, not really the correct calulation.

We risk having a total cost of contract of 7.2m (wages and transfer fee) or a total cost of -18m (profit).

18m + the 10m we didn't spend last summer on that striker + a little more investment from sales of Payero, crooks, Jones, Bola, McNair. We could be the big spenders. That kind of money invested well could be transformative for the club.

He's had 3 good years in 4, he did well in a champions league side / Invincibles league side in PAOK. It's just that one warnock long ball year that he struggled.
