Alone, a country can be a speedboat, while the EU is more like a tanker,

Because the EU leaned on countries not to break ranks and to do it as a collective enterprise as my earlier post outlined.
You seem to have ignored my point about brexit and sovereignty. Despite thinking you can answer it with a quote as opposed to things that are actually happening

Ever closer union-my main driver for voting to leave.
Without knowing you or what you said before the referendum I can only accept what you say, but statistically that is not why people mainly voted for brexit.

Lefty there will never be critical thinking. I doubt there ever was. Where I was brought up there was only Labour, we never met a Tory. In our political house it was about improving workers rights, oddly enough not about improving the rights of the unemployed.

I was from Berwick Hills until I went to college I did not know where Acklam was although I had heard of it. My old fella used to say you only go there to do the Doctors gardening.
I was in the Labour party for too many years and listened to all the theories, none were relevent to a steel worker.

To beat this lot we need to join today's age and win over kids.

You are right that critical thinking goes out of the window for most people when it comes to politics, but that is no excuse to ignore it or abandon the fight to improve it, because that is what leads to bad choices upon bad choices.

The first step is to get people to understand they are not employing these skills, which in normal life they use all the time.

That's all well and good, ask someone who watched Towie (if that's the right name) what is more important Ibiza or Boris I know the answer you will get. And we have no right to suggest politics if they don't see it as important. Middlesbrough has had a Labour MP for I guess a hundred years, is politics important?
Look at Brexit, you are one of the very few people's opinion and critical thinking I listen to. You once summed up my position perfectly, better than I could, but to me it's a dodo.

The fervent Brexiteers on here go about without your critical thinking, simply put together an off the shelf argument disagreement with any view that is pro Brexit. Even I gave up after the name calling: Ignorant, despise, liar ...

Its all going so well
Exactly what I am talking about, no expectation of a timing issue to understand new processes.

I am old enough to remember the implementation of 100p equalling a £. It took over a year, including by almost hourly adverts on TV. That did not stop the moaning regarding the change and as it transpired increase in inflation.
Where is the critical thinking here? Apart from Gove is an obnoxious t osser.

I don’t expect to influence everyone, just enough.

People tend to take more notice when the consequences of their decisions bite. That is when they can be open to wondering why this has come to pass and how to avoid making the same mistake again.

Anyway, I think taking note of the greatest minds in history of humanity, building on them, is the right approach. Abandoning the enlightenment is a backward step and it leads to Trump, Bolsinaro, Lysenkoism and ultimately the Holocaust.

Your approach seems to be ‘what’s the point?’

Well, after 127 years we could easily have said ‘what’s the point entering these cup competitions?’ I’m glad we kept trying, aren’t you?

Or what was the point of joining.

I sometimes wonder if I should have an Ofsted rating (outstanding), given how much I school you on this website.
I think his point was its not his most memorable car. Also from that very movie alone what is more famous, the hire car he had once on a re.ote carribean island? Or the DBS he drove until he crashed?

I couldn't care less what his point was. He said James Bond drives a speedboat, I said he drives a Mondeo - which he does.

Anyway, Lefty is right, he's made up so drives whatever his Eon have agreed.

I am aware of this it’s not really the car he is associated with though is it, let’s face it that would be an Aston Martin.

In your own little world I’m sure you believe you are schooling many people on this site, I’m not sure that would be their view of the world, but if it makes you happy keep believing :)

For someone who has accused me of using 'weasel words' when patiently explaining the difference between international relations and international law, you seem happy to employ them when it suits.

And I don't think I've schooled many people - it's just you.

Tbf I'm glad he drove a Mondeo. Without Ford sponsorship that film wouldn't have been as big, and he probably wouldn't have had the DBS either.
