If you didn't listen to Fridays hour slot about Ali then tune in tomorrow, if possible, my very good mate tells some great stories about his lifelong mate Ali, the one about the farmer was quality & a CH & bus journey was excellent
 
Loads of stories and memories of Ali today on BBC Tees... between now and 2pm. Even a chat with Ali's dad. 93.... A special day for a man I loved.

Just because I know a lot on here loved the man... I've been helping Rachel at BBC put a bit of a tribute together to mark the 5th anniversary of him passing away. There is a special sharing of memories tonight from 9pm til 10pm and then again on Sunday morning from 1030 through to early afternoon.

Ali was my friend. I don't use the word lightly. He helped me through one of the hardest times in my life... quietly and with kindness and, like many more I wept when we lost him. This weekend will start a process when I hope to eventually share even more of the stories and memories and legacy of a man that epitomised our club and community.

I hope you can listen... or take part in my ongoing to celebrate a life... that was extraordinary. Raise a Glass to one of our own.

I miss his commentary and I miss his morning show a lot too. His morning show was streets ahead of what we've got to put up with now
